Pediatric Cell and Gene Therapy Research Center was established in 2016 with the goal of advancing science and modern technologies in the field of cell and gene-based therapies. In the same year, it received initial approval from the Ministry of Health and Medical Education. This center is the first and pioneering institution in the country for research and development of cell and gene therapy treatments for children.
Given the center’s prime location alongside specialized children’s hospitals and continuous cooperation with medical universities across the country, as well as the referral of patients from all over the nation, it provides an excellent environment for both basic and clinical research.
Unique Position and Advanced Equipment: The center utilizes advanced equipment and facilities such as laboratory devices essential for cell and gene therapy, and clean rooms for cell and gene therapy. With the expertise and experience of its clinical and basic teams, the center has successfully completed numerous research and technological projects.
International and Domestic Collaborations: From the outset, the center has aimed to establish effective communication with other specialized groups to define and implement joint research projects in various fields of stem cell and regenerative medicine, especially for children’s cell and gene therapy.
Formation of Interdisciplinary Specialized Groups: One of the strategies of the Pediatric Cell and Gene Therapy Research Center is to form interdisciplinary specialized groups focused on a shared topic, aimed at advancing innovative treatments. For instance, groups have been established in the areas of cancer treatment, metabolic diseases, neurological disorders, pediatric tumors, and immune system deficiencies.
